soirée (swah-rey) n., fr., an evening party or social gathering, especially one held for a particular purpose.

The Tampa Bay Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (TBGLCC) is proud to welcome and support a new member (sway-rey) located at 2105 Central Avenue in St. Pete.  They have been chosen this month for our Member Spotlight.  Recognition will be given on March 18th during a social happy hour event hosted by G2H2 – St. Pete.

It is G2H2 – St. Pete’s desire to provide a location, once a month, that will provide a “particular purpose” for you to attend. Having personal knowledge of just how good everything tastes, you don’t want to miss it.  The social is Friday, March 18thfrom 6 pm to 9 pm. at (swah-rey).  You can follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/thenewg2h2stpete for more information.

Having a weakness for red velvet cake, Gregg’s presentation and the taste of Miss Scarlett’s Red Velvet Cake had me at “hello”.  Gregg and Leslie Ann have been married for close to five years.  Gregg’s career has been in the restaurant industry, having opened 19 restaurants.  So why a dessert bar now?  Leslie Ann tells me that they went to a dessert bar in Richmond, VA and felt the concept would provide them the ability to promote happiness “one bite at a time”.  Leslie Ann, an air traffic controller working in drone airspace, navigates the complexities of a new business opening all while keeping up with her career.  This has allowed Gregg to focus on his craft of creating and delivering desserts that will leave you wanting more.  That focus has been paying off.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Leslie Ann.  Our conversation covered from one spectrum to the other.  It was quite refreshing.  They believe strongly in providing a place to gather that places no one higher or lower than anyone else.  It shows even in what sometimes seems a minor thing to many.  In today’s environment of intolerance for our transgender community the “men’s” and “women’s” room option is a point of contention.  In the design process of the store she made sure anyone can use either bathroom.  Removing labels – thanks Leslie Ann.

Gregg and Leslie Ann’s desire to embrace the community is evident by just looking at a few of her recent business relationships: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay, Being The Art of Living, Pet Pal Animal Clinic to the Working Women of Tampa Bay.  This month they welcome G2H2 – St. Pete as they host their first private event.

TBGLCC extends best wishes to Gregg and Leslie Ann Ciccone.  Come support them on Friday, March 18th.
